Rezumat

Observations carried out between May and November 2024 in the protected area “The forests in the Southern part of the Cândești Piedmont” (Dâmbovița County, Romania) led to the identification of 78 macromycete species. Approximately 90 % of the forests in this area are state-owned, while the remaining forests and non-forestier lands belong to the inhabitants of the nearby communities, namely from the localities of Cobia, Crângurile, Gura Foii, Hulubești, Lucieni, Dudești, Mănești, Raciu and Tătărani (Dâmbovița County). For each taxon listed, information is provided on its substrate, the community-interest habitat in which it was identified, altitude, collection date, locality, and practical importance (edibility, toxicity, etc.). Several pressures identified in the area highlight the need for rational management of this protected site.
